As you may have seen in the news, Australia is burning (well, at least Victoria is).  It's pretty grim.   The survivors have some harrowing stories, both of watching destruction of people and property, and of heroism.

Via the BBC by way of yuggoth : Emmy-winning actor Patrick McGoohan, best known for starring in cult 1960s TV show The Prisoner, has died at the age of 80.

This is one of my favorite series of books from childhood, and this trailer seems to indicate that the movie is going to be way off base. What happened to England? Welsh mythology?
